Preservation and utilization of the Shibakawa Building,
a modern architectural work
The Shibakawa Building is a historical building that retains its appearance from when it was completed in 1927.
The first basement to third floors are occupied by various stores, including a chocolatier, apparel stores, and a jewelry store, and the fourth floor is used as a rental space.

Operation of the artwork
Rubber Duck
“Rubber Duck” was exhibited in Nakanoshima, Osaka in 2009 as part of the “Aqua Metropolis Osaka 2009” private sector collaboration project, and generated a huge response.
Chishima Real Estate owns this work by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and lends it out for various events.

The Shibakawa Mataemon Residence,
beloved as a symbol of Kotoen
Built in 1911 according to a design by architect Goichi Takeda, the Shibakawa Mataemon Residence has long been a beloved symbol of Kotoen.
It was damaged in the Great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake in 1995 and had to be demolished, but it was moved to Museum Meiji-Mura and completed in 2007, and is now open to the public.
